With this brief, I wanted to take the time to learn more about FL studio, the sound design program I've been learning on my own this year. One plugin in the database stood out to me and I wanted to find a way to use it as it has a unique sound. The plugin being, FL Slayer.

I quickly realised that the best way to use the plugin was to create a rock/metal track. I used some of the plugin presets but decided none of them really had the sound I was looking for and personally, I wasn’t sure what sound I was looking for. I decided to do some research into the kind of sounds I wanted to try imitate and I ended up with Mick Gordon's DOOM OST (Original Sound Track) from the popular fps game. I listened to several of the tracks from the OST and even found a short video on how Mick Gordon went about creating his sound track.

The next part was dialog. I got my brother to read out a short script of strange dialog in different ways some quiet and some loud and aggressive. I then put these through an EQ to make it sound as though he was talking through an old tinny speaker.

For the radio static I used a placeholder as the radios I had at the time didn’t have the right kind of sound. When I found a radio that would work, it was a little too far along to make the switch.

I put all of these elements together into a small 1 and half min sound-piece so that I could get an idea of what this would sound like when mixed together.
