I was a huge fan of Darkest Dungeon and have several hours in it, so when I saw this game come out I was both excited and worried. Excited to see what this game offered but also worried that it wouldn't have a strong enough point of difference from its inspiration. I was interested to see how the game blended narrative with character permadeath because in darkest dungeon, I found myself creating my own personal narratives for the characters in my hamlet. This got me thinking about how I would approach narrative in my own game.
