After playing around with the 3D game kit for Unity, I decided I wanted to make a Castlevania type game. This was the path I decided to explore first as it played to my strengths with regards to drawing and modeling. I started making a mood board for this type of game to see if I liked the theme. As I was looking at artwork from ArtStation, Tumblr, and Pinterest, I found that while there was enough art for me to create a mood board for this idea, it wasn't grabbing at me and the individual images didn't seem to hold the theme of Castlevania, and the Gothic overtones I was looking for.

Without scrapping the idea, I started looking through old pieces of artwork I had created and art I had found in the past and a new theme started to come together. I found several pieces of art that reflected a very similar style to my own, all with a similar, Tennessee backwater swamp look. I started looking into this theme for my mood board and put the images up side by side. First thing I noticed was there is a lot more cohesive art for the swamp theme and it was much more interesting with its colour pallet and dilapidated designs.

I will upload a final mood board file when completed.
